Commercial Whaling Protest
I'm not pro-Commercial whaling, but I prefer it to Residential whaling...
I don't eat any mammal meat, for what I perceive to be ethical reasons, but I try not to preach too much about it.
Whales are hunted, primarily, for their meat. As with dogmeat eating, I think the problem most people have with whale-hunting is necessarily xenophobic: "We don't eat that sort of meat in MY country! Those SAVAGES!!!"
I don't have a lot of patience for that sort of mentality, but I understand and respect that such people mean well.
Would whale farming be preferable to whale hunting? I don't know the answer, but I personally find the very idea of meat farming, in general, incredibly disturbing. My vote is that we stop killing all mammals (even humans), whether imprisoned unnaturally, or attacked in their own environments.
P.S: I don't wear any make-up nor ambergris perfume either, but I'll bet some anti-commercial whaling folks do.
