Flashback: 1980's: Harry Shearer & ...

...Steve Dahl & Garry Meier

For me , it was steve & garry who put the spotlight on Harry Shearer.
I was only slightly aware of Harry,
I didn't watch S.N.L. much in the 80's
In the 70's as far as comedy goes , it was Cheech & Chong,
Geroge Carlin, or Woody Allen.

A friend of mine turned me on to Steve Dahl in 1978 WDAI 94.7 Chicago.
In 1979 We went to Disco Demolition at Comisky Park.
In 1981 I began tape recording the radio show whenever I could,
and by early 1991 had filled about 430 cassette tapes.
Being the obsessive compulsive that I sometimes am when I get into something,
I labeled the tapes: topics, guests, ect.
Then I began making a catalog with the topics, Guests listed
and on which tape numbers these were located.

I've noticed many on this fine blog also like the work of Harry Shearer.

This past week I've made .mp3 audio files of some of these from 1984 & '85 to share with you.
