My Censored Myspace Posting in its Entirety

I've been really into the Democratic convention and think that Wednesday was by far their best day. I really enjoyed the New York delegation endorsing and nominating Obama for president. Their Governor has one of the best speaking voices I've heard in sometime, that's what I think. It reminded me of Roosevelt or some older statesman of bygone days. Maybe one day he can be President. When I was in China I heard Timothy Shriver speak on the Special Olympics on CCTV. I immediately thought this guy should be mayor of New York City. I also like Al Sharpton for that, he's flamboyant enough in the tradition of Ed Koch. Mike Gravel's name hasn't come up, but his plainspoken feistiness and independence would be a welcome change to the type of advice Bush has gotten from his inner circle of advisors. I think Gravel would be good at defense. And then there is Jim Webb, the talented young Senator from Georgia. Obama, like Jack Kennedy, would do well to surround himself with the best and the brightest people he can find. And there were plenty running along side him. He needs to be stronger, I feel, and show strength through not warmongering but leadership. You strengthen America by strengthening it's families and middle class, not by weakening it. Obama came out like Joey Bishop, dapper and slim, looking more like a rock star than a politician, the first time such a pre-visit could be remembered. The image played well in the hall but may not play well with voters in Peoria. Voters sitting on the fence looking at Obama for the first time seeking to be reassured and comforted that he is mature, serious, and ready for the job at hand. It is no small break for the Republicans that the Democrats will be given absolutely no bump, no momentum in the polls. Is the Republican Convention next week? How could that happen? Obama needs to radiant strenghth, maturity, and intelligence as well as confidence. He has to be more knowledgeable on the issues. I would like to know more about Obama's foreign policy. I disagreed with Biden about any American involvement in Georgia. No more wars of intervention and Unilateralism. If factions cannot unite, then they should have the right to self government. No more pie in the sky crusades for democracy foisted on peoples who've never had it and don't want it. War is not a foreign policy. War's a last resort, a result of failed diplomacy and hence a failed foreign policy and statesmanship. There are better ways of putting pressure on nations, and they are actually more effective. -ajr
