I think Hillary has desired to create the appearance that she is the Democratic Party's "heiress apparent".

If Hillary had just gone off into the sunset like all the other Dem contenders did (I'm really sad Edwards did not bow out with more media-savvy flare), Hillary would not be standing apart from them now. But instead, now she is not in the group of losing contenders but standing right in the winning circle (which Obama has politely tolerated); and Hillary may even continue to create the media impression that she never really lost, that it was all a misunderstanding stemming from the uncounted Michigan and Florida votes, and that she is not just another contender, but is right up there with Obama in every way except for the nomination itself!

This is the fodder that media dominance is made from.

This AAR problem has certainly reminded me of how much music I used to listen to...and Ive spent the time that I don't listen to tech podcasts listening to my old favorite music and uploading this and that to my little loudfusion player on ripcoco...and then when I'm online I listen to my own player...isnt that pathetic? There used to be SO MUCH to listen to on AAR that it was to the exclusion of everything else....and now?...well, theres hardly enough that I can stand...so Im on my player and then probably leo laporte's TWITS....
I hope AAR does the right thing and gives us Sammy and Marc at least...and even Kuby wouldnt be bad...I dont even dislike Belzer for the middle of the night...Just get rid of Mark Green's programming ideas and get back to the roots of this thing.

When Did Dinosaurs Live?

The story we have all heard from movies, television, newspapers, and most magazines and textbooks is that dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. According to evolutionists, the dinosaurs ‘ruled the Earth’ for 140 million years, dying out about 65 million years ago. However, scientists do not dig up anything labeled with those ages. They only uncover dead dinosaurs (i.e., their bones), and their bones do not have labels attached telling how old they are. The idea of millions of years of evolution is just the evolutionists’ story about the past. No scientist was there to see the dinosaurs live through this supposed dinosaur age. In fact, there is no proof whatsoever that the world and its fossil layers are millions of years old. No scientist observed dinosaurs die. Scientists only find the bones in the here and now, and because many of them are evolutionists, they try to fit the story of the dinosaurs into their view.

Other scientists, called creation scientists, have a different idea about when dinosaurs lived. They believe they can solve any of the supposed dinosaur mysteries and show how the evidence fits wonderfully with their ideas about the past, beliefs that come from the Bible.

The Bible, God’s very special book (or collection of books, really), claims that each writer was supernaturally inspired to write exactly what the Creator of all things wanted him to write down for us so that we can know where we (and dinosaurs) came from, why we are here, and what our future will be. The first book in the Bible—Genesis—teaches us many things about how the universe and life came into existence. Genesis tells us that God created everything—the Earth, stars, sun, moon, plants, animals, and the first two people.

Although the Bible does not tell us exactly how long ago it was that God made the world and its creatures, we can make a good estimate of the date of creation by reading through the Bible and noting some interesting passages:

God made everything in six days. He did this, by the way, to set a pattern for mankind, which has become our seven day week (as described in Exodus 20:11). God worked for six days and rested for one, as a model for us. Furthermore, Bible scholars will tell you that the Hebrew word for day used in Genesis 1, can only mean an ordinary day in this context.

We are told God created the first man and woman—Adam and Eve—on Day Six. Many facts about when their children and their children’s children were born are given in Genesis. These genealogies are recorded throughout the Old Testament, up until the time of Christ. They certainly were not chronologies lasting millions of years.

As you add up all of the dates, and accepting that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to Earth almost 2000 years ago, we come to the conclusion that the creation of the Earth and animals (including the dinosaurs) occurred only thousands of years ago (perhaps only 6000!), not millions of years. Thus, if the Bible is right (and it is!), dinosaurs must have lived within the past thousands of years.

The freedom of the press issue is similar. As long as the press is "free," unfettered by coercive outside influences, it is free to lie to you. No consequences to the "news" organization doing the lying.

"Science" has the mechanism of peer review in order to prove the value/veracity of the "science." This also allows the funding bodies of the "science" to know whether to fund a given area of study. It used to be that funding was tied to peer review and a career in science was tied to being associated with an accredited University.

News funding used to be tied to the news consumer and therefore had to be true to be believed, accepted and bought. Now news is for profit and the news that is reported is that which benefits the investors and the corporations which own the for profit news organizations. Outright lies can be reported and it does not matter if and when the lies are found out. If the lies benefit the bottom line of the funding organization, that is all that matters.

"Science" that does not require the peer review process for funding can also say whatever it wants as long as the funder is pleased with the direction the research is taking.

Obama has no plan. He is allowing his supporters to try to shame and brow beat Hillary's supporters into voting for him by calling them racists.

Woman dead in Wisconsin house; residents lived with corpse for 2 months

A man, woman and two teenage children apparently shared a house in Necedah Township, Wisconsin with a corpse for two months before authorities found the body.

At least one of the adults in the house insisted the dead woman inside wasn't "fully dead," and that they could pray her back to life.

Earlier this week, sheriff's deputies in Juneau County, just east of Tomah, went to a home in Necedah Township to check on the welfare of 90-year-old Magdeline Alvina Middlesworth, after the woman's sister reported she had not heard from her in some time.

When deputies arrived, the woman who answered the door at first refused to let deputies check on Middlesworth.

The woman, Tammy Lewis, finally relented, and allowed the deputy to search the house. He found Middlesworth's remains in a heap on what appeared to be a toilet. Police reports indicate the smell of decay was "overpowering."

The deputy ordered Lewis to take both of her children, ages 12 and 15, out of the house, due to the smell.

Police say Lewis then refused to talk to them without her "superior." That turned up out to be Alan Bushey, who police say also goes by "Bishop John Peter Bushey."

After Bushey arrived, Lewis told deputies that Middlesworth passed out a couple of months prior, and that Lewis had propped her up on the toilet.

She then claimed "Bishop Bushey" told her that God would raise Middlesworth from the dead, and that Lewis and her children prayed for days in hopes of that happening.

Police also interviewed the teenagers, who told them Bushey convinced them to be quiet about the body. They say Bushey told them demons were making it appear that Middlesworth was dead, and that if her death was discovered, the children would be sent to public school and be forced to get jobs.

It's unclear what the relationship is between Bushey and Lewis, or their relationship to Middlesworth. The children called her "grandmother."

Police say Lewis and the children shared the home with Middlesworth. The children have been placed in protective custody.

The home is reportedly in decent condition, although Lewis and the children apparently used a pail for a bathroom because Middleworth's body was draped over the only toilet in the house.

Both Bushey and Lewis are facing charges of causing mental harm to a child, and obstructing justice.

IRAN’S WEAPONS….Tina Susman of the LA Times reports that Iranian involvement in Iraq’s civil war may not be everything it’s been cracked up to be:

There was something interesting missing from Maj. Gen. Kevin Bergner’s introductory remarks to journalists at his regular news briefing in Baghdad on Wednesday: the word “Iran,” or any form of it. It was especially striking as Bergner, the U.S. military spokesman here, announced the extraordinary list of weapons and munitions that have been uncovered in recent weeks since fighting erupted between Iraqi and U.S. security forces and Shiite militiamen.

….A plan to show some alleged Iranian-supplied explosives to journalists last week in Karbala and then destroy them was canceled after the United States realized none of them was from Iran. A U.S. military spokesman attributed the confusion to a misunderstanding that emerged after an Iraqi Army general in Karbala erroneously reported the items were of Iranian origin.

When U.S. explosives experts went to investigate, they discovered they were not Iranian after all.

As Kevin Drum points out, this was a small post on the LA Times Iraq blog. Not the front page of the LA Times, just a small online note. Would any of us have heard about it otherwise? How many times have we heard that Iran is supplying the “enemy” in Iraq? That seems to get through the media loud and clear. Why, it’s almost as if the media is simply relying on the Pentagon and the White House talking points. Hmmm….

we have no way to solve for `X' in this one...

the unknown quantity in this race is the number of votes Hillary received from McCain supporters.

To argue Hillary truly can count on Operation Chaos voters is ludicrous, they intend to get her the nomination so they will vote against her in November.

To `do the math' we would have to SUBTRACT the amount of OC votes from her total...then, we would have an idea of the true popular vote.

URGENT: Comcast Is Censoring Political Content Again, Speak Out To Tell Comcast To Back Off Our Free Speech

Comcast, which has a history of censoring political content is STILL
abusing their monopoly power to suppress political speech. Last week
in San Francisco they REFUSED to accept the new Shirley Golub TV ad,
in her congressional primary challenge against Nancy Pelosi.

Apparently they did not take kindly to Golub's comparison of the
political behavior of the current Speaker of the House to a rubber
chicken, for her cowardice in not standing up to the Bush
administration. But that's not their call, and in the meantime the 3
major non-cable broadcast outlets ARE running the ad and they all
think it's a delightful hoot.

The real problem is that Shirley wanted to place these ads
specifically to support Keith Olbermann on MSNBC cable, and Comcast
by their action is making it immensely harder for her to mobilize
those who are Olbermann's viewers, her natural base. It is simply
outrageous for Comcast to refuse to air perfectly acceptable
political speech because THEY don't like the content. We must flood
them with complaints, or Olbermann himself, with his own
uncompromising commentary, may not be far behind.

I did contact Gloria La Riva's office at the time. And once consequently. It's not that the vote wasn't counted. It was. It was a question about why it didn't appear on the page that I was told to watch for the results the night of the primary and afterwards...my vote never showed there.

The county auditor here was told by someone at the SOS office that "it's not there because me being the only one for that candidate in the county, my identity could be discovered"

I asked for that policy in writing.

The SOS investigators keep showing me the FINAL results where my vote does show, and never directly answering what I'm asking...the validity of, and the proof of that policy...or some explanation and proof of why my vote isn't on that page....
