Ok, I'm in Philly, and I'm going to be blogging my observations. On the train I saw and chatted with Clinton campaign chair and former DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe, and each of us pretended to be good friends with each other for about 45 seconds.

I'll be posting here and then putting up shorter bursts on my Twitter account.

Talk amongst yourselves. I'm sure Chris will open up a prediction thread, but to get us going, I'm going to continue to predict that the most annoying scenario will play out. Clinton will win by 11 points, and get just enough delegates to freeze out the superdelegates who are on the fence and now on the verge of endorsing Obama. Also, Zogby will continue to issue wildly inaccurate and stupid polls, generating press and money for himself and false hope among various supporters.

US Treasury takes aim at FARC's financial network

The US Treasury Department Tuesday announced it hit with sanctions two entities and four individuals it charged had acted on behalf of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

The United States' government deems the FARC a terrorist group.

"Today's designation continues our targeted campaign to take down the FARC's financial networks, especially those utilized to launder their narcotics proceeds," said Barbara Hammerle, Deputy Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control, the department's sanctions compliance unit.

"This is OFAC's third action in the last five months against the FARC's deadly narco-terrorist organization. Our actions complement the efforts of the Colombian government against the FARC," she added.

Tuesday's move slapped a FARC financial network that involves two Colombian money exchange business, Cambios El Trebol and Cambios Nasdaq Ltda. Both are based in Bogota.

"The FARC used these Colombian money exchange businesses, or 'profesionales del cambio' as they are commonly known in Colombia, to launder narcotics proceeds," an OFAC statement said.

Zimbabwe intervention calls mount as church fears genocide

HARARE (AFP) - Calls for international intervention to defuse Zimbabwe's post-election crisis mounted on Tuesday as the US urged China to call back a ship loaded with weapons for President Robert Mugabe's regime.

As church leaders in the troubled southern African nation warned rising violence could reach genocidal levels, the government in Beijing defended its sales of arms but hinted the cargo might not be delivered.

UN chief Ban Ki-moon meanwhile described the continued delay in announcing results for the March 29 presidential election as unacceptable while Australia called an ongoing recount a ploy by Mugabe to steal victory.

Reports of violence have been steadily increasing since polling day with the opposition claiming 10 of its followers have been killed by pro-Mugabe militias and thousands have been forced to flee their homes.

In a joint statement, signed by the Evangelical Fellowship of Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishops' Conference and the Zimbabwe Council of Churches, church leaders all called for outside help to end the unrest.

Organised violence perpetrated against individuals, families and communities who are accused of campaigning or voting for the 'wrong' political party ... has been unleashed throughout the country," the statement said.

Voter Action, a national voter rights group, has asked a Philadelphia judge to extend voting hours tonight until 10 p.m., and to use paper ballots at all voting places where broken machines have been reported. The city's Board of Elections seems certain to object. The hearing is expected to begin momentarily.

John Bonifaz, Voter Action's legal director, says his organization has received about 150 complaints from Philadelphians today, a rate he says is roughly double what they've seen in primarires elsewhere. Interestingly, the leading local election watchdog, the Committee of 70, has said problems at the polls today have been relatively routine. We'll have more shortly.

Problem reports from polling places in PA, including voting machine malfunctions and long lines, began coming in early this morning. That could be an ominous sign, given that on most Election Days, the real extent of problems, at least with voting systems, aren't full revealed until later, and often in the days after the election. See our report yesterday detailing concerns about e-voting equipment (though not from officials, who weren't concerned at all) and whether there would be enough machines to go around (presuming they work at all) across Pennsylvania.

5:37pm ET: Machine malfunctions account for 30% of voter hotline calls. Philly-based non-profit watchdog group, Committee of Seventy, reports the following in a midday press release [WORD] from among 500 problem calls received, so far today, on their 1-866-OUR-VOTE hotline...

The most commonly reported problem so far today, accounting for approximately 30% of call volume on the hotline, has been equipment malfunction at the polls. There have also been reports of voter intimidation, rule violations at polling places and registration issues. Some sample reports include:

One volunteer called in to report that one of the voting machines does not seem to be recording votes properly: the count is off by three people.
In one precinct, voting equipment was not working and had not been working for over two hours. This problem had been reported throughout Philadelphia and the state of Pennsylvania and has the potential to disenfranchise thousands of voters by the time the polls close.
One caller was confused by a fake ballot at polling location. Election Protection sent a legal team which was able to clear up the confusion - the ballot was being used as an "electioneering" tactic to confuse the voter. The person distributing the fake ballots was told to remain the appropriate distance from the polling place.
One visually impaired caller reported that poll workers would initially not allow her husband to assist her in completing her ballot.

here in the Buckeye state. Everything is getting so green.

The magnolias are in full blossom. The magnolia tree in the

yard of our new house has purple flowers. This is the time

of the year to be here. You get a feel of what it must have

looked like here before whitey showed up and cut down all

the trees. Ohio at one time was completely forested. They

say a squirrel could climb a tree at the state line over by

Youngstown and travel all the way to Cincinnati and never

leave the canopy. It must have been something to see.

Most think Hillary went too negative. But after she wins tonight, it will still be obvious that it works-- so more of the same.

And I loved my truck but felt it was wrong to use it as a daily driver. Felt selfish so I sold it for something with a better EPA rating. I only get 24-26 mpg with bio-diesel and lost nothing in performance from my truck which only got 11mpg. I can only drive 4x4s to get to the Ranch. Actually, I only work 8 miles from home so I should just ride a bike.

Ten Things to Remember on Tuesday Night

Hillary Clinton will win Pennsylvania.

Arguments over the meaning or meaninglessness of her win will dominate MSM and stretch bandwidth to its breaking point. Bloggers and pundits will dust off their favorite boxing metaphors: "Hillary's off the ropes!" "Obama can't land the knockout!" Hillbots will rejoice, Obamabots will panic, and McCainbots will watch Murder She Wrote and go to bed at six-thirty. I'll probably write a scathing post attempting to prove that Hillary is the devil incarnate. We'll all lose our minds.

In hope of preventing some of this hysteria (especially my own), I thought it'd be helpful to keep a few things in mind during Tuesday night's results -- from Hillary's "victory" speech to the blizzard of spin that's sure to follow:

1. Remember that there's no way Hillary can become the nominee without a superdelegate coup -- which would alienate a generation of young Democrats and dangerously fracture the party.

2. Remember that her campaign leaked internals showing an eleven point lead (as a means of firing up her supporters and getting out the vote). Therefore, any win smaller than eleven points should be considered a disappointment by her own assessment.

3. Remember that every time Hillary begins a sentence with "you know," or "my opponent," the next thing out of her mouth is a lie.

4. Remember that when Clinton surrogates say "this proves Obama can't win the big states," they're ignoring the fact that he actually won more delegates in Texas -- not to mention twice as many states as she has.

5. Remember that when the pundits argue that Obama can't win in white rural areas because they broke for Hillary, they're ignoring the fact that he won (in alphabetical order): Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Iowa, Kansas, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

6. Remember that when Hillary talks about who will be "better against John McCain in the fall," she's talking about the fall of 2012.

7. Remember that Hillary's campaign is $10M in debt, while Obama's has more than $40M in cash on hand.

8. Remember that Hillary's lead in Pennsylvania was as a high as 26 points only a month ago.

9. Remember that Hillary's late Pennsylvania rebound was forged in the fires of negativity and fear-mongering.

10. Remember that the only manufacturing job Hillary ever brought to Pennsylvania was the manufactured notion that she was a middle-class, whisky-swilling duck killer, and not an anti-union multi-millionaire.

INDIANAPOLIS - A bank teller pregnant with twins was shot in the stomach during a robbery Tuesday morning, and police were questioning two teenagers as “persons of interest.”

Indianapolis police spokesman Lt. Jeff Duhamell said the teller, who is five months pregnant, was in serious to critical condition but was alert when taken to a hospital. “This is senseless. Some poor lady, trying to make a living, pregnant, shot by a man without any provocation,” said Indianapolis Police Chief Michael Spears.

Police did not release the teller’s name or age, or say whether the fetuses were hit.

The gunman came into the Huntington Bank branch around 9:30 a.m., jumped over the counter screaming and shot the teller in the lower abdomen, Duhamell said. He then fired another shot as he was running out of the bank, he said.

Duhamell said the shooter got away with money, but would not say how much.

Detectives were questioning two teenage males who were taken into custody while trying to enter a nearby high school, Spears said.
