One must weigh the cost to benefit ratio of any ultimate decision.

# 1. You come here because you like to, no? You have friends here. If you left, you'd be leaving them behind. Is that fair to them? Is that fair to you? Probably not. So this would be a good example of a cost.

# 2. By offering to leave, you're assuming that your being here is causing a commotion on the blog.

Supporting evidence (specific example): Granted, you said something once that made me 'fly off the handle' one day, mainly because you were responding (with a STFU) to something that had, really, been already settled and your re-bringing it up, tore off the scab for me.

Mitigating evidence (specific example): There were other factors in my own world that made me react like a nuclear detonation that morning. I went on a huge rant, others saw it, started ranting back, and as the saying goes 'it was ON, bay-bah.' You were really only a minor part of the scuffle.

More mitigating evidence (general). You have your moments, but the anons are *much* worse, more dedicated in their 'bad moments', and *much* more full time than you will ever be in those 'bad moments', either because there's more of them, or if its 1, they have made being here a career. I was scrolling through way more posts of theirs than anyone elses, particularly in the days shortly before Sam's embed rule change. Did you see Friday afternoon's thread? Wtf was that? I don't think you were even *here*.

So I'd say there's little proof that you're causing the bulk of the commotion. Therefore, would there be a benefit by the blog being more even-keel if you weren't here? I don't see any proof of that.

# 3. By offering to leave, you're assuming that you're chasing people off. I don't believe that. The people here would still be here if you were gone. There'd still be antagonist anons. There'd still be controlling personalities, more controlling than you could ever even think of being, though they're quieter about it.

I tried embedding a video anonymously, and I got the message that it was flagged as potential spam and being held for moderation. Then I was able to embed the same video when I was logged in. :)

TY Brett - although don't misunderstand, I'm not Jewish - I'm *employed* by a prominent member of the Jewish community, love my boss dearly, we have a very close relationship, and I have befriended his many friends and family over the past several years. I am (alas) merely a Gentile. I love everything about Judaeism, especially the food and the holidays, but I'm not a convert, either.

If anyone came close to converting me, it was his Hindu friend. When he was alive, he would say to me 'To have the good life, you must have equal measures of the good and the bad.' My Jewish friends are definitely in 'the good' category.

Living here near 7 years now. 14 years in Atlanta before that. I worked in Kosher catering at Atlanta's oldest modern orthodox synagogue. Not many Jews around where I live now except for some relatives and various non-practicing and/or half-Jews. Living in Catholic-land drives me nuts some days!
